Well I figured I would post some pics of my Grail NIB BG42 Mnandi and it has been a long time coming. So here are some sub-par iPhone pics.

Earliest lock up I have ever seen on a CRK and I love it.

Nice centered blade which I demand from a high end quality piece.

114/200 Awesome

Awsome Mnandi. I have 4 of them and love them all. An excellent and tough little knife. Now you can dream of a damascus mnandi ;)

I already have a Damascus and it's my EDC. Here's a pic.

As for the BG42 Mnandi I had never ever even seen one available for sale so when a friend sold me his I was stoked. This is my third Mnandi and this might end up being the only one I don't use because I'm not sure I could find another one.

Thanks for the replies!

That is one sweet knife, Your right, That is the Holy Grail, Congratulations.....

NIB, very nice, I guess your friend had exactly the same feelings about not wanting to use the blade :)
It's great! congrats

Thanks for the comments fellas. I have a couple questions. I found two small discoloration marks and I'm wondering if BG42 is rust prone? Here's a pic but it's not that great because I'm using a iPhone.

Does anyone know what this is worth? I know it would be hard to say because they don't show up often but if you know anything it let me know.

Thanks again.

bg42 offers less corrosion resistance than s30v, but i would not say it is prone to rust.

as far as value, i would speculate in the $400-450 range?

Thanks guys! I might just eventually break down and EDC it. I would love to see that BG42 in action.

I'd like to say I demand it too, but my new (to me, but also in LNIB condition) Mnandi arrived with an off-center blade. But what can a guy do? Either steam about it and start an ultimately useless thread to vent a bit, or simply accept it. But still, I'm tempted to interject whenever someone mentions that centered blades are a given with CRK's. Especially in those, "Is it worth it?" posts and reviews: "So why do I need a $400 knife? Because I demand excellence and precision, and with a CRK I have peace of mind knowing the blade will be dead centered and free of blade play." With more and more people speaking out lately, hopefully we all know that isn't the case.

My Mnandi is S30V, not BG-42, but I too found a spot that I think might be rust or possibly even corrosion:eek:. It is hidden under the handle scale, on the tang just outside of the washer's circumference. It won't buff out, so I just treated it with some Tuf-Glide and now I'm hoping for the best. I suggest you do the same... try to buff then treat it with something to slow down its progression.

I really like my Mnandi. Its size, blade shape, blade thickness, weight... everything about it is sweet. Except the off-center blade and the rust(?) spot. I think it sucks hard having to put up with stuff like this on a $350 (more for yours, I'm sure) knife.
