My Circa 1964 Camillus Cub Scout Knife. Blue scales, carbon steel blades. Still tight after hard use.

I just got two knives just like that one (but not in as great of a shape).

Are they worth anything? I don't want to hijack. I'm just wondering. Work knife or home knife? Stash 'em or use 'em?

That's a fine example and they all bring back memories. I had two just like them when I was, what?, 10.

'Course they were bigger back then. ;)

That's it! The knife my grandfather gave me when I was in Cub Scouts! :D
That little Camillus is what got me started in my life log love of knives.

Wish mine would suddenly appear after all the years. What a cool carry.

I think mine was brown stag or bone.

VERY happy for you!! :D My 1956 CSA knife looks exactly the same except the grip scales are cracked from some dopey kid :o throwing it (no, not while scouting). Great memories.

This was my very first knife my parents gave me in 1975 and I am sure this many kids first knife.

Very cool you still have your Cub Scout knife after all these years!
That is the exact same type of knife I had in 1960 but I have no clue what happened to it.
Good for you, I hope you pass it down to a family member who will appreciate it as much as you do.

My younger brother absconded with our Boy Scout knives and left me with two cubbies so that was my knockaround/camp knife till into high school, at which point I thought I was pretty cool and would carry a Mercator "cat" in my Dingo (boot).

(deep breath in)

It's a coinkydink I just thought of that I just found two identical knives.

(Twilight Zone theme)

I have two exactly like the one you found. One still has the plastic box it came in. Mine are both from the mid to late 70s. My dad taught me to free hand sharpen on those knives. Then again, back then free hand was the only option :D

I have several knives worth more but likely don't have any that will see the use those two knives did. I got the second because the original meant so much to me I could not stand the thought of losing it after my cousin lost his. Guess you could say I retired the first one.

I have mine that looks exacty the same. 1978.
I never could get it to take an edge like my little queen, but the only thing cooler was a real swiss army.

My Boy Scout knife was a dark brown (looked black) Camillus 3 blade. It would take an edge Spyderco would be proud of. And, that was the cause of my loss. My best friend, as it later turned out, coveted that wonder of a knife and stole it from me. Then, he couldn't use it because I would find out. (we were kids). I went up through all the ranks of Cub Scout, Weblows, and to First Class Boy Scout. I got out only because Baseball was calling with a louder voice :)

I was a Cub Scout in 1964 as well and I sure wish I had my old knife. Congratulations for finding yours!
