Greetings you all
Just sitting here killing time untill it's time to go to my nightshift
I was going through my Opinels and picked up my last bought one: the No 5.
Just amazing how that little bugger fits my hand in a 4 finger grip.
When I got it I first peened the pivot a bit so the action is nice and tight.
Then I forced some patina with vinegar and last soaked the handle in line seed oil.
Despite not having the lockin ring I think I will EDC it for a while to really try it out.
Heck I got the action in such a way that my Alox Classic will close sooner on me than the Opinel.
For a REALLY full grip I would have to go with the no 9 because of my big meaty hands, but since my 7 is bulky enough in my pocket as it is and since I don't need such a large blade this is out of the question.
I guess I just found my Old World Pen knife
Just wanted to share this with you all.
This will be my main knife for a while backed up with my ever present Alox Soldier.
