Hello, I found an old Gurkha knife at an auction and I sent photo's to Craig he sugested that I post it on this site to see if anyone can help me find more informtion about it. He said it looks to be very old and was not sure what to make of it unfortunately I can not figure out how to post a photo but if you email me at rockcrk@nemontel.net I will send them. It is in a wood sheath and looks to have old blood on it, It also has markings on the blade I'm hoping a collector may know more about it, and I will consider selling to a collector if they are interesred. Martin,
I posted some info on getting pictures into your posts on the thread Questions from a total ignorant. If you can post in the forum you'll greatly increase your exposure and the chances of getting information. I'll be happy to share whatever I can if you want to email pics to me at Dolrsdad@aol.com .

Here is a picture of Martin's khukuri (slightly edited to enhance the design).

It is in relic condition, having lost the tang and handle/bolster/buttcap assembly to the ravages of time. (Another photo shows the two wooden halves of the scabbard, in similar condition and minus the original covering).
I believe the design on the blade designates this style of khukuri a Sisneyri from the village where it originated - sorry, I don't have a good enough map of Nepal to know exactly where that is. Originally it probably looked something like this.
