When I was an OTR truck driver (expedited straight truck) I bought a Buck 371 with the blue and black G-10 covers. (0371BKSWM-C)
It was a great knife.
The truck poltergeist, Gertrude, must have agreed, since she borrowed it a couple times over the next year, before she decided not to give it back.
I did not have a co-driver, and I checked all the nooks and crannies it could have fallen into, including removing the mattress from the bunk, and emptying the storage compartments under, after checking all my pants pockets.
This 371 was one of two knives that Gertrude took. (the other was a small Rough Rider Trapper, about the size of a peanut)
I've been searching for a replacement 0371BKSWM-C for a couple years now. (Every Walmart I stopped at was out of them)
I finally found one at Knife Center, and ordered it.
It arrived yesterday. :)
New, in the hang package. 2014 date code.
The poltergeist, Gertrude, stayed with the truck when I retired, so I know she will not take this one. :)

My second Buck knife of 2018.
As Mr. Yoda would say,
"Happy Camper, I am!" :D

Grrr, those dang poltergeist, glad you got it and it's now safe. At least until Alfredo, the den poltergeist shows up...

I hate it when I lose a good knife. I've not lost one in years, but I used to lose quite a few when I was younger, due mostly to rough housing, sports, hiking, camping, and those sorts of things. I did have a nice 501 stag stolen from me at a gym, one time. Mostly, I have been able to replace them, but not the 501. I am glad you got a new one since you like that knife so much.

Sorry you lost that 501.
I have specific plans for this 371.
With the stainless steel liners and G10 (G-10?) it should be even more "bomb proof"/"industructable" (weather wise) than a bone or wood covered 371, or even a standard 301.
I think this 371 will be living in one of my bicycle seat or frame bags that I use for carrying my bike tools.
