The one dollar price tag was a no-brainer but I'm just not sure what kind of knife it is. It's obviously military and it has "Japan" on one side and I think it says "S.A.B. Ridgefield N.J." on the other side. Any help with I.D. would be greatly appreciated. Mike

Looks like some type of small bayonet (circa WWII maybe?). I'm sure someone will chime in with more info. If not, you may want to try the Traditional Knives or Knife ID sub forums. One of the Moderators may even move it to the most appropriate place for you...

One of these popped up on reddit a few weeks back and it was determined that it was a reproduction of the bayonet made for SAC during WWII. They were produced for RIFFE which is located in NJ during the 60-70s I believe and possible used during Vietnam. Of course this wasn't 100% confirmed but it was the closest we ever found to a true answer.

Google S.A.B. Ridgefield, NJ, lots of information. It is M4 Bayonet for a US .30 caliber carbine. According to Hal Forgett, it was supposed to be S.A.C. for Service Armaments Co, and reportedly most were sold to a foreign government, very few sold commercially. John
