Hi All!

The tang stamp is hard to read but it ends in "& SILLIMAN".

The main blade is well worn but it's a nice solid well made knife.

Pretty interesting covers on that one, I don't know anything about that knife but I think you done good by snagging it.

It may have been Blish-Mize & Silliman Hardware Company. Atchison Kansas. Least a quick look at my Levine's reveals. Maybe try to check that full name for more info on it.

Cool knife...looks like a cattle knife pattern maybe but the covers are pretty different for sure.

Most unusual Ken and yet very appealling. Are the covers cel?

Great find!!! I agree with Joe "Cool knife...looks like a cattle knife pattern maybe but the covers are pretty different for sure"
Thinking out-loud I wonder if the covers are that bright stand out pattern on purpose so if it fell on the ground (as a working knife often does) it would be easy to find.
Dropped an Old Timer with those brown delrin handles one time ... I knew exactly where, down to an area about 4 yards x 4 yards but in rough brush country... it took a lot of finding.

Looks like a Blish Mize & Silliman Pocket Knife #43581 pyralin from the 1928 catalog p.1207;)

Thanks for the interest and the information everyone.
Thanks Gevonovich for looking it up.

The celluloid appears to be stable at this point but I will keep my eye on it for any evidence of out gassing.
I have several other celluloid handled knives I keep in a separate storage area just in case.

Seems the design department back then was ahead of their time,as the handle looks like the style of modern art. Nice knife.
