Hi all,

I'm looking for a Badger Attack E series and found the following on ebay:

Badger

busseBADGER.jpg

Is this the genuine article? It apparently came without the Busse box and it claims to be Busse rather than Busse Combat, plus the Busse Knives logo isn't the same as on the Busse Combat web site, so I'm not sure...

So I thought I'd come straight to the experts!

Andy,

That's the real thing. The sheath is right and there never were boxes with the Badger Attack-E. (At least I never got a box...)

As far as the logo, I expect the seller just whipped that up on his/her own.

I hope that helps,

I have not seen the knife "in person" myself, but I am sure that if Bob and Winnie (Antiques to Zippers) are auctioning it as a Badger, then it is a Badger. I have bought many knives from them through Ebay and just by email. I have *NEVER* been less than 100% satisfied :D with any deal I have done with them. I once got a great deal on a computer-graphic decorated Sebenza from them, so I know they deal in high end knives at good prices. If you have any questions about the knife just contact them by email and I am sure they will fix you up. Great people to deal with :) (just check their Ebay feedback).

Regards,
Clay

Hey Clay...

If Bob says it's a Badger ,,it is..

Bob's a Standup guy....

If you talk with him Tell'M Eric said to say hello...

Eric...

I did a search on bladeforums for his handle but couldn't find anything so I thought I'd better check.

I appreciate all your feedback and will certainly try to buy it!

It's hard to tell from the pics but it very well may be one of those circa 1980s-90s Chinese knock-offs. They originally sold in open air markets thoughout the eastern orient and Pacific Islands for about $2.00-$5.00 USD. They peaked in value in the mid 90s when Busse Combat Knives became more widespread in distibution. Their current value is nominal, at best.

Fortunately for you, I just happen to have a friend, poor, old and sick though he may be, that collects these Chinese knock-offs. He really likes knives and fancys himself a collector but he really cannot afford much. Because he is also blind, I assist him in acquiring his specimens. I lie to him and tell him he gets great deals (makes him feel better about himself, poor, old, sick and blind guy that he is) but really I financial supplement his purchases without him knowing.

If you want $5.00 or $10.00 for it, I could probably arrange for its sale. You would have to send it FedEx Red Label, Insured/Overnight and agree to pay return shipping if he (we) didn't like it.
;)

The couple that runs Antiques to Zippers are fantastic to deal with. They set up at local gun and knife shows and are the most enjoyable people to visit. (and they have a lot more "authentic" Busses to boot;)) Hope you enjoy your new Badger!

Nimrod, that trick is sooo old.

Actually, the knife in question is a domestic knock-off. Worth a bit more. pteron, I'll give you $15, plus half the shipping.

At least you'd recoup some of your education money. Let this be a lesson to you.

OK so I missed it by a couple of dollars - but Busse have some in stock and I shall just have to buy one...

Looking at the picture of the knife on ebay shown above, is this the tan handle?

I ask because I've seen a few pictures on this forum of very brown/tan handled Busse knives and some that I assume were black handled which are not solid black.

Thanks
Andy

I've had the same problem looking at a lot of Busse knives. Some times its just fricking hard to tell what color the handles are being classified (ex. black, gray, tan, camo).

Right now two of my battle mistress are suppose to have different handle colors, one black, and one gray. The shades are so close together its just the same to me :) Still love them just as much though....
