I found this blade in an attic while changing an air handler and customer said I could keep it. Believe it’s a Boy Scout knife due to the childish drawings on the sheath. Has no markings. The house was built in the 30’s. Let me know if anyone has seen one before thanks.

It appears, from the blade shape & Aluminum Handle to be a WWII Era Navy Galley Knife That were used for eating but could be used for a utility knife. If you unwrap the handle it will have USN in the handle.

We have a couple of those, around 50 years old or older. Handy knives, steel is tough and stain resistant but hardly holds an edge.

Military mess kit knife looks like. Hard to tell with wrap on handle.--KV

Cool find. Looks like a kephart. I am interested in learning more.... USN or whatever. Very functional blade shape for general purposes.

Ww2 pattern mess kit knife, unwrap the handle and you'll see US on it.
The sheath is definitely factory, looks like the typical sheath from an Imperial H6 , Utica sportsman, or really any example of this generic pattern.

I see now that several others beat me to it.

Nice full blade on it. I kind of like the wrap. I’d leave it. Easy enough to find them unwrapped. it might be authentic trench art. Lol!

I read a book one time about a commando who preferred that knife over his KABAR because it would bend around the ribs. But I don’t believe it was a fiction book so take that with a grain of salt.
