Since I know how much you guys just love anvils, even just pictures of anvils...things of beauty really... So here is an anvil I found. Purchsed it for $400 off a guy who does farrier work around here. It has nice rebound, just wondering if anyone here could tell me anything about it. Is this a Brooks anvil? I just haven't seen an older one with the cams on the heel like that before. Thanks!

IIRC, the lugs on the end are for shaping horseshoes. You stick the hot iron between them and pull to curve. They can also be hammered on to shape the curve.

Just typing "JB England anvil" on google image search seems to bring up plenty of anvils with the JB mark, but they are all John Brooks anvils and not one that I've seen has the same rounded ends on the heel. This style seems more uncommon.
