I don't know that much about them as far as pricing and availability. They seem like pretty good deals but I wanted to get the forum's opinion.

First one is used, was professionally resharpened. There is some visible wear but looks to be in good shape. $175.

The second is LNIB, factory edge. $240

Thoughts?

Good prices, relative to what they've been going for lately. LNIB as in carried some with superficial scratches, but original edge or?

The description was not clear. It said it was a LNIB display knife. I guess that was the queen and the used one was the user. The user doesn't look bad in the pics, just some where on the clip, lock and such. It was resharpened by Seattle Edge.

I think if you look close at the pics and you'll see lots of scuffing to the blade coating which makes it not "like new" or else people would be all over these at those prices if the pics matched the described condition.

i bought a new one years ago; was going to use it until i went to a local gun/knife show and a vendor had zt500 blems in a plastic tray (a lot of them) under $100...i bought one and that's what i've been using...that new one is still NIB...i had no idea people were paying that much for them now...

Here are the Pics:

I'd probably buy them... they are getting hard to come by these days. Did you find them at a local shop or what?

I wouldnt say the left one is LNIB but i would buy em maybe not 240 for the left one , but if he'd go lower I would buy them both. they both look like they are in the same condition , except for the pocket clip, but thats not a big deal.

Yeah, LNIB has a super-wide definition depending on who you are talking to. For the right price I would at least get one, but don't plan on reselling to knife folks with the same description. Buy it as a user/carry piece and enjoy it. If waiting for a true NIB to show up at a decent price, well I've seen stranger things but never say never, right?

The 0500 is a beast of a folder... awesome sealed off-pivot. I've covered mine in sand, that thing works!

Only gripe I have about it is the folded over pocket clip that makes it difficult to pull the knife out of your pocket a lot of times.

I PM'ed the seller yesterday afternoon and made an offer on both, he came back with a counter offer (twice) but I wasn't interested at any price but my offer. I will say he is willing to deal! If anyone is serious about buying make him an offer.

My take on the "display" model is that it was exactly that, displayed in a store. (we didn't discuss this, my take only) This would account for the marks as it would have been handled quite a bit. Personally I wouldn't have used the words like new. Of course as we all know not all knives come from the factory with out any markers either.

Whats negative is that these will likely never be remade. One of the fellows at ZT told me they are a nitemare to manufacture. The ones out there are it.... I lucked into one out of Canada for just over 100.00. But it took a lot of patience and jumping on it as soon as it was listed. The seller told me he had a half dozen offers over 200.00 after he marked it sold.. So the demand is still strong. Good luck on your pair! P.
