Looks like its already gone, but I sent an email for the GRS just in case...

I just opened the box containing the 18" 22oz Chitlangi pictured above.

I already had smaller and larger Chitlangis but I got this one because it is an excellent length and weight, at least for me, and I like Bhakta's work.

It's always nice to get a little better than one expected, and that's the case here. The knife is actually 18.5" long and 21.5oz in weight. The fullers are deep and well shaped, and the handle is comfortable and good looking. The blade is a full 12" long and very sharp. The spine is 3/8" thick from the bolster to the bend, and tapers very gradually to 1/4" thick about an inch from the tip. With that thick a spine the relatively light weight must be due to the deep fullers and what appears to be a fairly narrow edge profile. This is a strong knife, though not designed for heavy chopping like an AK or M43.

The knife was sold as a blem for only $75 because of "slight shrinkage of wood handle round the buttcap." It's really very slight shrinkage, because it's only at one corner of the butt and barely visible, and the buttcap is not loose at all. I plan to fill the gap with superglue.

There are a lot of good buys in Yangdu's sales, but I have to say this is one of the best I've seen.
