I believe this has to be a new record. From posting to all gone in well under an hour.

A very fine day for DOTD!

Woohoo, lucky me. The farmer will be my first khukuri. I plan to put it to use so a farmer was the ideal choice I think. I've been lurking here for a while and really appreciate the community you all have built. I'm relatively new to Bladeforums but have been putting together a large(r) blade collection for a while. I will most likely spend more time here now that I'll actually have one and will report back on my use. Thanks again to Yangdu and the opportunity.

Bawanna, it looks like the record may be 4 minutes. I responded in under 2 minutes and it looks like Petros was in at 4 or under. Despite my desire to buy more I'll probably be on the sidelines cheering the rest of you on for a little while now.

mbay, congrats on your first khuk! Which one is it that you got? The KLVUK?

philllll, yes the KLVUK. Looking at my previous post I should clarify that I've been working on a collection of larger blades (all users) not a large collection. I live on a couple acres in Texas and have a lot of trees, many of which are fencerow hackberries that grow large but drop a lot of limbs. Seems I'm forever cutting up branches. This KLVUK might be just the thing.

i got a good size fence row by the house i got a kershaw camp 10 a short time ago, makes short work of those limbs.seems to be a good blade for the price

It should serve you well. The KLVUK is a really great knife.

I like big knives, too. Can't bring myself to use some of my rare ones, but a lot of them do get used.

philllll, I can't bring myself to buy big knives that I'm only going to look at(if it doesn't have a use I don't need to own it) and I also don't seem to be able to bring myself to spend several hundred on a beauty that I'm going scar up through use. So....I look a lot a beautiful big knives that are nice and shiny or that have gorgeous handles and dream about them but only end up buying less expensive knives that I'm going to put to task. the KLVUK seems to fit that perfectly (and especially a blem).

Grats mbay! and welcome to the forum! I know what you mean about them hackberries. The KLVUK should do well on them! Feel free to post your blade collection in the cantina if you like! Would love to see your steel! Nice dark handle on that KLVUK btw:thumbup:

Thanks ndoghouse, I'll have to consider the pics in the cantina. Hadn't really considered that.

Wow, Good thing I am broke or I might have been sad that I missed out on so many great options. Congrats mbay I believe you are going to put that farmer to exactly the type of use it was made for. Petros congrats on the Dhankutta and the Chainpuri. But a lurker got the Siru eh? Someone that has the patience and ability to fix that handle really got a great deal on that blade.

That 13 inch villager would have been my pick.

Good selection today.

i got the Done Deal for 3&4 first and when i saw after a hour the #1 is still available, i send ems for it. I thought that way i can save $$ on shipping;)

Ah nice Petros. So you got 1,3 &4 then. Congrats. Do you have a plan for repairing the handle on 1 or waiting to see what it is like in person before you decide?

Petros I thought you grabbed up all three in one fell swoop. That's why I thought it was a 4 minute record. Either way, nice score.

I dont know how to repair it. I was hoping the members here give an idea on how to repair it.
