Very nice selection.. I'm waiting for the "one" to call out to me but its exciting to see whos gonna shark.

Man, I'm digging that AK, siru, and chit. I think ShamrockWill is looking for a siru/ chit in that size though, so I'll hold off.

nice shark on the sirupati Joe. Thats a bit lighter and an inch longer than the blem I sharked the other day. It served me well yesterday clearing some brush in the side yard. I fixed the handle with epoxy and sanded the entire grip down with 100 then 400. It has a greyish look to it now with a grippier surface.

Thank you Mobileninja on the sharking and what brand of expoxy did you use to fix the handle? just wondering..thanks

Joekido's Shark-Fu is strong ;) Joe, how's about a pic of the whole collection? :D

I used loctite. It was the premixer syringe. I ended up squeezing the exact amount on a piece of cardboard mixed it around with another cardboard then used a thin piece of clear plastic to scoop it up and press it into the areas of the handle that had cracks.
After it dried (I let it sit for a day) I went at it with sandpaper till I touched back down to horn. What was left was some nice character markings (the filled in cracks) and grey somewhat roughed up horn. 400 grit sandpaper smoothed it out enough to look like
a "villager" finish horn grip but still left enough roughness to enhance the grip.

I'd like to see pics of how thick the blade is with that kind of weight. My Sirupati is light but not THAT light. I bet it would double up as a light and fast machete. Mine tore through Palm branches like nothing.

Nice shark..that sure is a sweet one...I like the lines on it...way to go..:-)

Thanks JK-Pursuing the mighty choppers.BTW-Congrats on your snags as well.Amongst sharks, you are without peer! And I would like to see some pix of your collection as well!!

Hey thanks Mobileninja that is the kind of info i was looking for..perfect! I will take some pic's of the Sirupati when I get her...she should be fast in the hands...just what the doctor ordered...thanks again for answering my question...I truly appreciate that...thanks and see you around.

RE: "18 inch 16 ounce Sirupati by Bhakta."

That's the biggest khukuri I've seen yet that didn't weigh more than a pound.

I actually already bought a 21" Chit from the online store but it was too heavy for me so I just sent it back today in exchange for the 18 incher. I still would've pounced on that Siru though. 18" and only a pound.....that's amazing.

I have a dhankute/kobra made by new Sher kami, about that same size and weight as today's Sirupati. It's fast, like he forged a lightning bolt out of steel. I think the only knife I have that'd be faster is one of my machetes, and even my Eco-Survivor only marginally faster.

The more I think about it, the more I want an 18 inch 16 oz sirupati.. My current is 24 oz and although it was quick to chop at palm branches and tall weeds and brush I felt the control of each swing could have been more stable if it were lighter. That was really a significant shark Joe. I hope we see more of those in the next. I will definitely be in line for one.

18 inch 16 ounce Sirupati $80!!!!
That was a great shark. Congratulations on an agile and fast moving blade. Got bandaids ready? :)
