and my own presale hysteria. DSL (h?) just delivered the goods from Nepal Yangdu has been waiting for. With all the turmoil in Nepal shipping is going to be an adventure. The boxes are supposed to contain Sher Specials, the AK Cleaver, Swords, and some other goodies. And if I stay off the phone and Do Not call Yangdu to pester her, she May be able to post some DOD Today.

I want to see if the Cleaver came out right.

Great:) another chance for me to chirp in that the new cleaver, while heavy, is really a gem of an axe/knife. A little too heavy for me to pack as my primary camping blade, but the Mrs. made chicken and dumplings this weekend. She does all the work. All i have to do is cut stuff up. Out came the MCC and much joy was had as the blade smashed and sliced its way through poor Mr. Chicky. Carrots were a breeze. Actually, it felt like i missed them when i chopped. Now that i threw caution into the wind and ground off places in the antler handle to fit my hand better, it feels great.
I have a feeling that it will be AK bowie for camping and hiking, and the MCC for kitchen duty and splitting dragon scales. Both wonderful knives, yet completely different;)

There you are; the Munk Chunk Cleaver doing it's part for housewives, outdoormen, and the American way from Coast to Coast.

I talked to her again- wasting precious box opening minutes- and the Sher Special is definately here but the MCC is not listed. That does not mean it is not there- Kamis have their ways.

I love my MCC. You can find other packing blades that don't weigh 2 lbs but the MCC could do that too if called.

In fact, I'm pulling it out right now to give er a look. I've got Rusty's old AK Bowie this MCC by the table too.

Yes, somewheres..even on the forum. If you do a search I'd just plug in AK bowie and see what happens. One day soon, when you ask for a photo, it is my hope this PC dummie here will be able to whip one out for your immediate gratification, but not yet.

I'm sorry, slow today. Sher Special? Which one was that? The attitude model I hope?

If it is after Noon I guess I'm out of luck as I won't be online from Noon-3.

I keep missing those...

Thanks,

Norm

thanks for the heads up munk:thumbup:

Munk, I did a search and found them, they are great knives!

Yes indeed they are:) Great in quality and great in mass. There aren't many knives that I can think of that come in at 15" and 32oz:eek: I fished mine out of my truck to mess around with it. I never leave home without the MCC or the AK bowie;) I have some 10oz leather scraps around here from sheath making that i thought i would subject to the MCC. All I can say is WOW. It severed the leather with a 4" gash, went through the plastic and foam mat, and cut cleanly into the work bench under it:eek: !
One of our good-guy regulars here, Heber, had a pretty bad run-in with his AK and wrist that required him to get all kind of tendon work done. I have a feeling that if he would have gotten himself with an MCC, then he might be missing a hand.

I'd like to see what these boxes look like Munk. I am just imagining getting four large crates of khuks. It would take me hours to unpack and play with each one. Sweet.

Oh man why did you have to tell me this! I have doctors appointment this afternoon, looks like I'll miss the feeding frenzy! Good luck and good hunting guys.

I wonder...

Does Yangdu get the same giddy feeling we have when a box arrives?:D

And, just how big are these boxes?

I imagine it's more of a groan. She has to unpack and stock and sell.

I don't know how big the boxes are. I'm with you guys, the bigger the better. I get excited over one triangle shaped box- I can't imagine opening a box which contains dozens of knives.

Funny, I wondered that a long time ago but I wondered it about Uncle Bill. I decided that he probably did not. Don't know about Yangdu...I suspect from her creative photography that she does.
