Four groove pulleys (Not a step pulley)

Hi, Im trying to find a four groove pulley, not a step pulley but four 2" pulley grooves stacked.(probably a lost cause without having one made I know).I want to use one with a step pulley for a better variable speed..If we use two step pulleys at least one is wasted because its RPM output will be beyond what our 10" coote is designed to run on(2000 rpm's per Norm)..
Like this..
.1725 rpm motor= 4 step pulley
Drive-----------------Driven-----RPM's--
4"--------------------2"---------3450
3 1/2"----------------2 1/2"-----2450
2 1/2"----------------3 1/2"-----1249
2"--------------------4"---------875
----------------------------------------
1725 rpm = 3 step pulley
3 1/2"----------------2 1/2"-----2450
3"--------------------3"---------1725
2 1/2"----------------3 1/2"-----1249
.
If you go by Norm Coote both of these give me two usable speeds..Seems like a waste but if I can find a four groove pulley I get this...
2"--------------------4"----------875
2"--------------------3 1/2""-----1000
2"--------------------2 1/2"------1400
2"--------------------2"----------1725
.
In the off chance anyone may know where I can find one please let me know. Thanks
Also anyone that uses step pulleys on your Coote, do you use all the steps without problems???

Well I remember from my woodworking days that the ol' Delta Unisaw used a 3-way pulley, all around 3 1/2" wide...Might look into using one of those with a three step pulley of the right size..That would get me around 2000-1500-1200 rpms....

Um I might be missing something, but what about the belt tension with all one size pullies on one side? I don't have a single belt driven tool except multi speed drill press, so I could easily be missin something here.

If you use a hinged table that uses the pressure of the motor for tension it is self adjusting. I just looked for a 2" 4 groove sheave and could not find anything. 2 Inches is pretty small. 4 groove sheaves are available but I don't think 2" is.

You are over-thinking this:
Instead of moving the belt from one drive pulley to the next.....move the motor ( with one pulley) from side to side.
Mount the motor to a plate with a piece of 3/4" pipe welded to the edge, and run a piece of steel rod through the pipe. You now have a hinge that can be moved from side to side, and up and down. The steel rod is affixed and the motor moves. The motor weight can be used to apply tension, or a spring can be attached to keep more tension if needed. Lift the motor, move the belt to the desired step on the step pulley, slide the motor a fraction of an inch to align, and lower the motor. Speed change done in 10 seconds.

well I have actually had that set up before using a table saw slide mount..The problem is you get a lot of side to side vibration(walks from side to side) without stops on either side of the slide..
I suppose one can be made DOM tube and shaft then adjustable fabricate stops from two shorter pieces of DOM to go on either side..Im sure that would work just fine and be easy to rig..
yea, thanks.....

When you do have the money to pop for a VFD and a 3 phase motor it is well worth it. It is so quite and convenient that you will wonder how you did without one for so long.

Good luck with your pulley search, unfortunately I have nothing to add:(
