I've built 78 knives worth speaking about. This is the first time I've duplicated a design.
The knives and sheaths are about as exactly the same as I can make them.

Thanks for looking. Please give me your thoughts.

Thanks,

Peter

Sheaths: 6/7 oz veg tanned leather(RJF Leather) lightly wet formed, hand stitched, with a corresponding wood maker's mark tag on the belt loop and a buffed Mink oil finish. These sheaths have a locking welt that provides a nice, secure "click fit"(I'm applying for a patent tomorrow :p).

Very clean and very nice as usual! :)

I love your maker's mark medallions. A very nice and unique touch. Could you explain your locking welt design a bit further?

Grizz - Thanks for the compliment.

The locking welt is really just a ramp designed into the welt that forces the "guard" of these blades to ride up then down into a notch where it seats securely with a bit of a "click". You have to give the bit of a tug to release it from its seat.

edit to add:
This photos shows the four welt pieces that went into these sheaths. You can sorta' curving ramp that will force the tip of the guard up pressing the knife tightly into the back of the sheath while sliding it in or out.

Thanks! I kind of figured that's what it was. Do you worry about excess wear on the welt that could lead to looseness of the lock?

I love the idea of the wood diamond on the belt loop stitching. Very nice, and something I have not seen before.
