Just a heads up, FourSevens closed on December 15th.

Their Quark Click QK2L-X is the nicest flashlight I've ever owned and was hoping to get more of their lights. On their website it says the brand will be relaunched next year with changes but who knows what that means.

At the moment it seems like you can only buy the remainder of their stock on amazon or ebay so if you want one now would be the time to grab one.

Picture of my Foursevens next to the Streamlight Protac 2L-X. 280 lumens brighter and it's in a smaller, tougher tube. Both great lights but that's a big difference!

I've had good luck with my 4 7s. Maybe something better will be around the corner.

Wow, didn't see that coming. I've had a Quark Tactical for years, and it has always worked great. I have to admit, I have been buying Olight in recent years instead though. The LED torch market seems pretty saturated.

Interesting he chose the wording "pass on the baton" when talking about someone in the industry who is taking over... a hint that could mean Olight is buying them? Hah, probably not but who knows

I like/liked several of the compact CR123 FourSevens lights and am surprised to see them go - I thought them popular/thought they sold well.

They often got good reviews on the flashlight forums.

That being said, Ive gravitated towards Olight (S1 Mini Baton Ti + S1 Baton).

David (the guy in the video) sits on the board at Olight so I'd say it's a pretty telling hint...

I just lost my 6 year old quark that had been a true EDC in that time last week.

Well, that just sucks. I have several of their double-CR123 versions, one for EDC and one for carry with my pistol, and have given quite a few as gifts over the last few years. Really nice lights, but now so much for the warranty...

Fortunately we live in an age of many good vendors in this genre. They aren't the only game in town.

Right when I need some work on my Preon. I like it, but hardly ever carried it anymore. Oh well.

That's true, and we are indeed fortunate to have so many choices in just about anything we're interested in these days. However, being old and grumpy and set in my ways, I prefer consistency, especially when I find things that I really like! Once I settle on a particular thing that suits me well, it's a hard sell to get me to try something else. I guess going out of business is one way to do that, though!

from @prometheuslights - A message to you all concerning the recent acquisition of @foursevens
Stay tuned for more announcements on products, warranties, etc.
Letter reads:

To our friends and customers,

I am pleased to announce that Prometheus Lights has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the Foursevens brand and assets. The last few years have been an incredible journey for Foursevens (est. 2008), and Prometheus Lights (est. 2011). I’d like to thank David Chow, founder of Foursevens, for building an incredible company and strong brand in the marketplace. It is a humbling opportunity to build upon his great work and continue the Foursevens legacy.

We both started years ago with the belief that innovative ideas and hard work could transform the humble flashlight into a powerful tool of the modern age. I want to assure our community that Prometheus Lights will remain focused on leading the market and fulfilling this mission.

I met David back in 2012 and I have long admired Foursevens industry leadership, dedication to excellence, and customer-focused solutions while also contributing to a great community of enthusiasts.

Some changes are in the pipeline, though I want to assure you that Foursevens will resemble the tried and true Foursevens that you have grown to love. We now have more resources to continue building products that delight our customers and deliver innovation for years to come.

We are excited to share more about what we will be working on in the coming months. The possibilities are unlimited, and we are just getting started…stay tuned!

Onward, upward, and thanks for your support,

Jason Hui / founder, maker, & owner
