Today I decide to take out my Ricky Fowler 10in Camp knife and my New BRKT Kephart model. These are excellent knives. Ive noticed since Ive been in Alaska that chopping is alot different here in the cold than in the south. Im always worried I damage my blades. No problem here the Fowler held up great. The Kephart cut into the cold wood with now problem. Cant wait until the summer to get out and play. :) Annyway hope you enjoyed these pics.

That Fowler is an awesome piece. What steel, W2?

Nice northern duo. The Laplanders would approve. I always figured if it's too cold for steel, it's too cold to be out. Northern Alberta logging shows usually shut down at about -40 as it's too tough on equipment. I don't think you'd have to worry about blades shattering in the cold tho' unless it's around -70 or below... and you don't want to be out there at that temp anyway.

Really Nice duo I agree that the Fowler seems to be the definition of "Camp Knife"

I also love that kephart. How do you thing it would hold up to batonning or harder use? it looks like a sturdy specimine.

Where did you get the kephart from and how much did it cost?
That is a nice combo of knives large and small I feel that is
a great way to enter the forest.
Take care caine,
Bryan

Glad you are using that Fowler, it felt like it would make an aweosme chopper! That BRKT looks awesome too, I may have to look into one of those. Great pics.
