I heard this knife is out now, but I haven't seen any discussion on it or any reviews.
Is it all hype? I'm looking for a a knife exactly like the DART. I know Emerson makes one, but its difficult to find.

Fox has solid build quality. Probably better than Emerson if I were to be honest. The DART is essentially the 599 with a tanto blade and minus the would be flipper. It has all the requirements of a proper defensive knife. Rapid access, well made, secure grip, fine edge, easily carried, and rarest of all, a trainer option. Which really should be a prerequisite for all knives made for it's intended purpose.

I got the blade/trainer combo. It's pretty good and the trainer adds an edge of realism to my training.

I'm a fan of traditional karambits, but the straight blade of the DART has proven great at EDC tasks, and the wave is extremely fast when combined with the ring.

The only thing I could complain about is when I deploy it fast, there is a very audible "snack" sound, which announces that I just drew my knife in training-I'm just nitpicking here though.

Also, it best fits people who have a fist width (from pinky knuckle to index knuckle) of about 3.5 inches, if that helps.

Did you ever get a fox dart? I'm in the market as well and will pass on anything I find out about it
