My search-fu and google-fu are weak on this matter, so can someone explain what the deal currently is with the Derispina Chiroptera? Is this a limited run only? I really want one because it is at a great price point for a knife that looks damn near perfect to me. However, it seems that this was a one time run, and I can't bring myself to give a one off pocket time. I am just OCD like that and have some wonderful knives that I just don't carry because it makes me feel like I am destroying art, crazy I know. So what is the deal? Thanks to anyone that can give me info. Posted this on the USN yesterday, but no joy :(

Are you talking about the FOX KNIVES FX-590 CHIROPTERA KARAMBIT DEVELOPED WITH DERESPINA KNIVES with N690CO blade steel and G-10 scales? If so, I don't know if it was just one run. You could email Derespina Knives

I got mine at ExtremAddiction. It's very well made with a nice blade shape. However, it has no Emerson Wave opening like the other Fox Karambits like 599, 478 and 479.

Yeah, that is the one. I am trying to avoid contacting Mr. Derespi9na since he is a busy man, but I might have to do just that. Wave opening feature aside, this knife really catches my eye, and it has such a short blade that it is legal most anywhere.

Hi guys!

I would like to issue a warning, for those of you interested in buying knives from Richard Derespina. I ordered and through Paypal pre-paid a Fox Karambit. Derespina never sent it. Month after month he claimed to have it in the making. Finally I tried to reclaim the money through Paypal, but too many months had passed. Derespina again and again said that he would see too it that I got the knife, but he never sent it. Some almost six moths later he began claiming that he had sent it but that it was lost in the mail. He could, however, never produce a receipt that he actually had sent the knife. I am convinced that he never did. I also tried to request refunding of the knife through Paypal, but Derespina never sent any money back, regardless that he promised to do just that in e-mails. So, never, ever pay that man anything in advance. You risk getting conned.

Best regards,
Mats
