Fox Kabar clone?

I just bought a Fox 691 combat knife. It is made in Italy. It is identical to a full sized Kabar except for the plasticish handle and the tip of the blade is a little more upswept. The blade finish is also a bit more shiny than the Kabar. I did some chopping and cutting with it last night and it seems good quality. Does anybody have one or know of these knives?

Not sure on that knife, but,I know they use N690C in some models. That is a really good quality stainless.I have a Fox Hunter Kerambit made from that steel, seems pretty good to me.

use n690co on almost every knives (even long blade were it result too rigid)

the folders lack in the locking system (some linerlock are too thin and pushing on the back of the blade you can close the knife without disengage the lock)...

for me the quality is a bit too low compared to the price.

Thanks for the answer.
You are the first poster I have seen with complaints about Fox quality.

I find it easy to understand your English.

i didn't mean that Fox are bad knives. only that are not so special and you can find better knives for the same price...

Some people might make the same claim of medium quality of a Kabar. How much did the OP pay for the clone?

Aside from being very expensive here to buy Fox knives in the USA, Fox has a good reputation for good knives and aggressive designs.

Then again, if I ever bought a Fox, I may not be too willing to scratch-up such an expensive knife!

I paid to $55 OTD for it. I did some more hard pounding with the pommel and chopped almost halfway through a 2x4 and battoned through a few 2 inch logs and the edge is fine. I cant see any signifigant damage. I would compare it on the same level as a KaBar USMC that I did the same to not long ago.
