Hey guys. I’m looking at these two knives (and a trainer) but am curious… is the TI-CF/Elmax worth the extra $200 over the N690Co and G-10? Not familiar with either steel. I’m a CF/Ti guy but I feel like G-10 would have a bit better grip with sweaty hands. No experience with either knife. I own a fixed blade Karambit but a folder seems more convenient.

I also saw they offer it with LAWKS. Worth it?

I've got a Fox 599TicS. Made with Ti/CF/Elmax and weighs only 2.8 oz. Really nothing better in a karambit in terms of size/weight and materials but at a Market Price of $300-390, I wouldn't consider it a "starter" knife.

I've also got a black G10/N690Co Fox 579. Completely functional but it's bigger and weighs 1.8 oz more than the 599TicS. You'll only appreciate the difference when you see/feel them side by side. Market price: $125-$160.

Is the 599TicS worth over twice the price of a 579? I think so but you'll have to decide for yourself or, do what I did, and buy both. ;)

The TIC model is also a framelock design as opposed to a liner lock, if that matters to you, and unless I'm mistaken, the TIC model comes riding on IKBS bearings while the standard 599 does not,again if that matters. Those 2 things however coupled with the steel and CF, also play apart in driving up the cost.

I have the larger 479, and I do like it a lot! N690 & linerlock, g10;
If they made a Ti/framelock/elmax version of the 479 though, I'd be all over it! Take that for what it's worth... if you have larger hands, you also may prefer the 479 over the 599, also something to consider with a grain of salt.
