I purchased a MFH International kukri over here at Ramstein AB to send to a friend, and made a Kydex sheath for it. After looking around on the internet I found it looked amazingly similar to the FKMD Kukri that costs $178 on FoxknivesUSA.com.

I made another sheath for myself, after sending my friends off, and today went and purchased another one for $46 at Ramstein.
Upon opening the box I found the Fox Logo printed on the inside. There is a sticker on the outside of the box indicating MFH International. Anyone else know any info about these companies? I can't help but love the cheaper option, but it makes me wonder if there are any differences in the metals used.

I'm really happy with the sheath as well, not bad for try #2 at sheath making. Not sure I love the tek-lok belt clip, but it seems to work.

The MFH kukris are fakes!

The original Fox Knives Military Division Extreme Tactical Kukri have a 9.25" blade of N690Co (HRC 58-60) with a FORPRENE black handle and NYLON sheath.

Yes, MFH is a notorious rip off, counterfeit, clone making company. They have copies of CRK fixed blades, KaBars, And all sorte of other items. I'd get a refund. I think everyone wonders what the materials are, hard to say what mystery pot metal alloy is being used, especially when 1055, 1095, and 1080 is so readily available and proven.

Yeah, when I saw the box had Fox printed inside I knew something was up. The thing will work perfectly fine as a machete. I tested out the blade, and thats about all it is good for. No matter how sharp it is the thickness prevents it from slicing anything properly. It's purely for chopping, the blade is about as thick as my Eberhard Schaaf (now Solicut) meat cleaver. I need to buy my MysteryRanch CrewCab w/nice frame, then I will buy the FKMD knife. Hopefully the dimensions are similar so that sheath I made will work, lol. The one I sent to my buddy will be used in the jungles of Costa Rica soon. He will probably destroy the blade on his trip.

Yeah, such a shame, Fox is such a great company. I own 5 of them and except for the serrations, they are awesome knives.
The build quality of them is top notch, and the blades hold an edge very well. If you ever have the want, I would encourage you to buy a real one

Fox Knives makes a great variety of quality knives at fairly reasonable prices. Most of the Fox folders are liner locks while some are lockbacks. I have 8 of them all with N690Co steel. Three of my Fox Knives have the Emerson Wave feature which is licensed from Emerson Knives (Col Moschin small and large plus Karambit). Two of the knives have excellent serrations (Col Moschin small and large). One has a composite blade (Nero Nighthawk - titanium spine with N690Co edge).

I also have a Combative Edge M1 with the same steel also made by Fox and a titanium frame lock plus two of the Extreme Lite Carry folders in Elmax that Fox makes for Wilson Combat.

I was just looking at that Kukri in bronze down at Fox Knives USA today. it's great choice. I own quite a few Fox knives and they are all awesome.
