I just picked up a survival knife made by Fox of Italy for a song, and I'm quite impressed with the quality, so I thought I'd let you folks know.

I see that A.G. Russell sells Fox, so they must be a good knife, but you really don't hear too much about them. The knife I have is reputed to be the Italian Air Force knife, but I'm not sure. Anyone know if this is true? It's a brilliant piece of work in 440 with black micarta, an agressive saw back and a killer sheath. I highly recommend Fox if this is an example of their regular production work. BTW, the knife had a great edge right out of the box, something I think more manufacturers should do.

I recently purchased a Linder, and I was very dissapointed with the sloppy grind. The Fox has restored my confidence in production knives.

Anyone have comments about Fox?

I don't know a whole lot about them, but, they were in the back of the Boker/Magnum mail order catalog last time. They offered 4 folders, the buffulo horn pieces they offered were georgeous.... And resonably priced too. I would like to see some of the other models tho.... Web site anyone?

But it seems not complete.

If you want to read more things I wrote about FOX (a quite thoroughly presentations I made to some other Forumites), please search for "FOX", "Maniago" and "Virginia" in "Knife Review and Testing" and archives of this Forum.

P.S.: I don't think it is an Italian Air Force Knife, it is so rude for the Italian Army to admit they could use a knife :-(
