Hi All,

I recently just finished up a video overview of the Parang XL designed by Alfredo Doricchi. Over-all I like the Parang. I've handled the Parang Jungle Bushcraft too and think that they are both solid offerings for the price. I'm planning on giving this blade some work when it warms up (pretty sure it wasn't designed to shovel snow) and will update my impressions.

This overview has some new shots/techniques. I bought some camera gear that allows for more "fly by" dolly style shots that should give a pretty detailed impression on the construction of the Parang.

As per usual, there is a more detailed written review with more images on my blog : http://www.edgeobserver.com/fox-parang-xl-model-fx-687/

Thanks for watching

I didn't know about the buckle system on the sheath--I like the concept!

Thanks Edgeobserver for the very well done review

I would like to add the information as follows:
- the Parang XL - Gen1 had some issues, in fact the grind of the blade was too acute and - probably - the temper process was inaccurate, so we experienced unfortunately any broken blades You may recognise the Parang XL - Gen1 by the absence of the logo "AD design" on the right side of the blade.
- the Parang XL - Gen2 has solved this problem. I personally tested it several times, no issues at all. The grind of the blade is now wider, just as I would like, and the temper process is ok. As far as I know, we never experienced broken blades for the Gen2, until now. You may recognise the Parang XL - Gen2 for the presence of the logo "AD design" on the right side of the blade.
Cheers,
Alfredo

I see it with 2 different scales (here and here) - does that differentiate which Gen it is and if not, why the reason for the different scales..?
