So, here's my thought process behind buying what I already knew was kind of the Jansport of tacticool packs: I wanted something with molle attachment points for longer packing trips, if I do one or two longer packing trips this year it'll be a miracle, it was $46.
For what it is, it's fine so far. I'm training for a hike, so I threw my Camelbak 100oz bladder and a three-gallon jug of water in and hit the trail in South Mountain here in Phoenix. The pack swallowed that jug right up, which if you think about it is pretty durn big. Tells me that the pack could hold a fair bit of real gear. I was hiking for maybe two hours, and after some adjustments the pack was fine as far as comfort goes.
The jug.
The trail.
Edged toy pr0n.
The design is nothing particularly fancy. A large back compartment with just bare nylon interior and a separator for where the bladder goes. Two velcro straps to hole the bladder up and a velcro-closeable port for the bladder tube. A bare middle compartment. Underneath it is a separate small compartment, at waist level. The zippers are pretty big and have pull tabs.

One metal ring on each shoulder strap and a slidable stretchy ring that I hooked the bite valve into. The back area has padding. Chest strap and padded waist belt with a pretty big buckle finish off the list of features.
All in all I'm pretty happy so far with what I got for what I paid. I've got reservations of course about the durability; none of the material seems all that sturdy or great, although it does appear to be pretty well stitched. My thought though is that if I don't use the pack except when I'm going for 1 or 2 day overnighters, which I don't get to do very often, then it'll probably last pretty well.
