Took a hike for lunch today eager to see how the ff would perform on some of the hiking trails in my local mountains. I was sure there was going to be some brush and fresh spring growth to cut back. But alas the forestery teams had got to it first, well most of it anyway. I was able to find some out of the way spots that most city hikers don't venture to.

After clearing some low hanging branches I got to a spot that had some stouter stuff to challenge me. Turned out not to be much of a challenge at all, the ff just cut through everything I put up against it. I finally got around to taking some pictures to share with you all. Cut some dead wood and some live.
The FF is a beautiful piece easy to carry and comfortable to hold. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good, no great trail knife and all around utility. Outstanding!

H2O, Exactly what I've been saying all along, "If I could have just one it would be my 17" Foxy Folly!!!!" :D
Great pics of a nice khukuri and some neat cutting.
Whereabouts on the west coast are you if you don't mind saying?

Oh yeah, I don't wanna forget to add about the beautiful wood on that FF Handle!!!! One with that much figure in it is a treasure, at least to me. :D

You DO realize that there is a certain element of er...mental instability...in being upset that the Forest Service got to cut brush and junk trees on the hikers' trail BEFORE you did? And that you had to go out of your way to find stuff that was out of the way of the path so you could cut ... seems, uh, OCD-ish?

We've all done it. It just ain't quite right, you know?:D

Yvsa,
I'm in L.A. area, Santa Monica mountains, which were originally home to the Chumash Indians. Today has been beautiful here low 70s with some strong winds at times.

This is a great knife, with beautiful wood and perfect balance. It rests in my hand like a feather. I love this one. The others are good but this one is "the one".

I never thought about it before today, this is the first time I really wanted something in the wild to chop!:D

We all have to have our hats off to Yvsa for stomping and keeping on them to make a 17" FF. Truly one of the best ones they make. Light enough to carry but heavy enough for clearing good sized logs without much effort:thumbup:
