These are the blemished leftovers from the latest Foxy Folly shipment. They have all developed hairline cracks while in storage in Reno - the cracks will never go anywhere, but we can't in good faith offer them to the prepaid list at full price. There are also two with chipped handles (small, easy to fix).

So, y'all get to reap the rewards instead...:D

Take a look at what $125 will get you:

17 inches overall
24 ounces
~2 3/4" inch wide blade, double fullered
Spine is approx 5/16"
Handle is approx 5 1/4", chandan (all are chandan)
Bolster is traditional style, all fittings are white metal
Cho is approx 5/8" from bolster

Only 11...10...9... left....and counting...

(I'll do my best to keep this updated)

Have at it!

:D :p

Damn they look good. Don't know if I can scrape $125 together though. Have to double check my finances.

I'm with you on that one. I'm going to see what I can do to scrounge enough money to get one of these. I really love the way they look. Are they as powerful a chopper as they look?

mike

Cool thanks. I guess I should scrounge a little harder for the money. Sounds like a truly awsome blade. (aside from the fact they look great)

As a followup to that field report, the edge has remained about the same: it takes a good thrashing but is not invulnerable to damage. I'm still amazed that it holds up as well as it does, being as thin as it is.

The hairline crack in the handle eventually closed up on its own. I'm guessing that the difference in humidity between western WA and Reno (or possibly the generous amount of Ballistol the chandan absorbed) solved that little problem for me.

It's difficult to say whether a certain khukuri is ideal - a tool's worth is in the eyes of the beholder. It's just like asking what the best car is, or the best pistol, or anything else; it depends a lot on who you ask and what you like. I will say for the record that the FF is a very good general purpose khukuri. If I had purchased one of these first, my collection would be considerably smaller.

Well guys, I couldn't stand it. You took too long! Picked up another one.

Oooohhhhh.....I really want one. And I have the money. But I can't make up my mind....I really want a Pen knife, but this looks too good to say no. I just got my first khuk last month, and already I want another? Such a pretty knife, this one. Grrr....indecision. What say you all? Is it foolish to get another when I've just gotten the hang of my WWII?

tsf does have 3 of them now, so they must be worth it :)
Hmmm. I still gotta think about it. But gosh, I sure do like the look of it and I've seen what it can do thanks to Satori's threads. Hope there are some left. <fingers crossed>

still some left...

and it would be foolish to miss out on it while you can.....;)

Half of these "hairline cracks" will resolve themselves just by be relocated to some place even semi-humid...

Go to the nearest pharmacy and look for Mineral Oil. Grab a few bottles (the stuff is very cheap) and empty them into a quart jar (also cheap). Drop your cracked handle in the bottle for a few hours and wipe it clean afterwards. Oila! Problem solved and future cracking prevented. Repeat this every year or so.

Can't go wrong with this one. Yangdu is going to make this a regular offering once we get some consistent runs...

I got mine ordered. I'm not missing out on this kind of deal. (not willingly anyways). Even if the handle does continue to crack, I think a desert ironwood handle would look pretty sharp.

Email sent!

I actually have a bottle of mineral oil already, use it once a year on my guitar's fretboard. Seems to keep things in good shape. It's dry out here in Cali, but not Reno Dry.

Can't wait, can't wait!

good show, gentlemen.

BTTT, because there are still a few left...after this, they'll get buried and come up as DOTDs later...

I'm amazed there are any left. Got my spec one yesterday. Beautiful. When I get a chance, I will post comparison with one of the "out of spec" FF's.Very interesting to see the 2 side by side.
