Since I can't walk and I'm out of work for a while, I might as well type away. First let me say that Chris Reeve makes some of the best knives ever. I have been drooling over a Sebenza for about 6 months. I don't make allot of money so I was saving up a little at a time. After 6 months I had enough money and a guy I knew had bought a large classic Sebenza and due to financial obligations, wanted to sell it. It was brand new and beautiful I must say. I forked over the cash and slid my new Sebbie in my jean pocket and was on my way. The next day, I'm working in a not so nice neighborhood, and it's late and I get mugged. I should have seen it coming, but when someone points a Glock out and points it at u and the other guy has a bat, u tend to be very still and give them what they want. Needless to say, I lost my cash, credit cards, Sector watch my girlfriend gave me and of course my shiney new Sebenza that was in my front pocket. I bet u a million dollars the guys don't even have an incling how much that knife is worth...I didn't move, and just did as they said, then for good measure, the guy with bat cracks me over the knee cap and puts me on the ground. They took off and I just kinda layed there for a while in pain wondering how I was gonna get to the hospital ( They took my cell phone as well). Not too long after, a nice guy came walking by, saw me and gave me a lift to the closest emergency room. See, when I'm working in not so nice areas, i usually wear my Spyderco delica, Bu i forgot to change to that when I left to go to work. I do exterior work on houses and Apt. buildings and I was just getting off work at like 5pm...It was just one alley to a building i shouldn't have been working down that day I guess.

So, I'm layed up for a while and through the pain of a fractured knee cap, no work and the loss of all my crap, the thing I miss the most is My Large Classic Sebenza that I owned for all of 24 hours.
What a cruddy begenning to the holiday season huh.

Well, thats the end of my rant, I'm gonna wheel myself in the kitchen and get some coffee.

Hope it gets better.

 :(

I'm sorry that happened to you! I hope those a**holes chop their fingers off with the Sebenza!

So sorry to hear of your recent misfortune !

There are many ways that you can look at it. . . The most important. . .you got away with your life ! For that. . .I'm happy !

Whack jobs, like the ones that you ran into, have been know to do more than try to put a knee into the right field stands !

I truely hope for your speedy recovery !

And I wish many bad things on the 2 BG's.

I am sorry to hear about your misfortune, i will keep you in prayer for a speedy recovery. It is true you lost your stuff however it could have been worse and lost your life. Of course i pray you have a personal relationship with the risen lord Jesus Christ.

I realize that a broken knee cap hurts and the loss of work means that things can get tough but as far as the money, watch and knife (even a sebenza ) they are just things and things can always be replaced or at least dreamed about. Best of luck and I hope that God will make it all worth while.

I know how you feel. My 'altercation' happened in August and I escaped with a broken wrist and a head laceration.

In a few months you'll feel better about what happened. I hope you're on your feet soon and don't have any permanent injury.

If you have any close relatives/loved ones, now is the time to milk them for help and get them to wait on you!

Best of luck Veritas.

veritas,
Sorry to hear about your mishap.:( I hope they get the thugs
that did it. Hope you have a speedy recovery. Take care!!

It really sucks to have that happen.

I had a double-lug, engraved large Sebenza stolen this summer near Gettysburg, PA along with wallet, credit cards, etc. I felt a lot worse about the knife than about the other stuff.

Good luck with the knee.

Mike

I am also sorry to hear about your attack. I do have a suggestion on how to find those BG's. They are probably what we call in my line of work as "frequent flyers", which means they are probably on probation for previous crimes. They probably also hunt on their own home turf. If I were you, I'd pay a visit to your local probation / parole office, after telling your story, ask them to look at those that live near your place of attack. If they are computerized they might be able to show you scans of the BG's they supervise in that area. You might be lucky enough to have some match up. It's no guarantee but you could get lucky (and therefore make someone else very unlucky). You may not get your stuff back but who know's, maybe one would be up against the "three strikes" law. Have a speedy recovery.

Wow! Sorry to hear that, hope you get well soon. IMHO you were very lucky to get away so lighly... Hope a thousands years of bad luck on those BG's. Did they have 'colours'?

Now I know why IMI developed the .50 DE Magnum...:p

Take care!

After doing exactly what they asked and forking over all your good stuff they then bash your kneecap !!

I don't understand that one - I sure would like to find those guys for you.

Sorry about your knife Veritas, but glad you still have the real important things (your life, your girlfriend, etc).

Marc

That is the worst, Veritas. If you get a chance, return to the area and pay them back.

Thanks Andy, I'm up and walking around now...Apparently the doctors thought it was worse than it really was...So, I'm walking...albiet limping but I'm up. I really wanna take u up on those cigars and Tomahawk throwing we talked about. ;)

Thanks bud, talk to you soon.
