I recieved a tank buster in the mail today and had to laugh when I saw the "fragile" stamp. Its a beautiful knife, but more than that its a 1/4 of an inch thick slab of infi. The camo blade is razor sharp from the factory and the black and grey/green handle is very beefy in hand.

Its a very nice piece that I will be very happy to beat the $h!t out of very soon.

How do you folks like your tank buster? I missed out when the were offered from the store but lucked out this time around.

It uses better than it looks. The feature I dislike most is the hump on the spine opposite where the choil would be but mine has no choil. The ability to get satin and no choil in the CG made it irresistible though. I prefer the Special Forces handle and the Straight Handled ASH to the TAC handle but with Mags it feels good enough.

My next grail is the nmsfno. I think that is such a great and simple all round knife.

The TB has a lot of belly, which can be good, its very pointy even though it is so thick an robust. The tack handle is not the greatest in any one grip, but lends its self to many grips in which it is comfortable and versitile.

I love choils on medium sized blades. The humps on the spine do look sort of goofy at times, but are somewhat functional. Mine has the skull crusher pommel too. I gotta get some pics up soon. I just hate the hassle of using photobucket or similar sites.

i love my tank buster. it's an amazingly versatile knife. definitely not fragile though.

It wasn't marked fragile because the contents could break, it's marked fragile so the box handler doesn't drop kick it only to find a tank buster half way through his foot. I really wish I was kidding about that, but no.... seriously. It's not a bad idea to mark your knife boxes as fragile for that reason o_o

The tank buster is a nice knife in the choiless version, it's just a little too big without gaining enough performance over the Boss Jack or the desert fighter for me. I find the tac handles to be too round in the center, so I gravitate the newer BOSS handles.

This. In a prior life, I used to investigate transport loss/damage claims tho usually on a much larger scale. If the the item were inadequately packaged, it made it very difficult to pursue a claim against the transporter. I have the clerk pretty much mark everything I ship of value 'fragile' so there's some hope there will be a little pause before the guy stacking all the hundreds of boxes won't put yours on the bottom. It's INFI, but it can still be dinged, chipped, bent etc. Tho the TB 'probably' won't suffer.

I received a knife once were the fellow wrapped it in a single sheet of news paper and tossed it in a plenty oversized box so I could bounce/slide/slam along for the 1000+ mile trip. I was less than thrilled. A little bubble wrap goes a long way and can save alotta headache. It's not like you can go down and buy most Busseskin at the mall.

Enjoy that TB, it will serve you well.

My main concern with most knife shipments is more to the people handling it than the knife itself, though damaging the tip is a serious concern. I've personally received 2 shipments where the contents were jutting out of the side, one was a busse though I forget the model, one of the larger ones. The second was a HI tin chirra where the metal point at the bottom of the sheath jabbed through the side of the box and ended up getting doubled over from hitting concrete and decks multiple times. And I've read more than one story of people being pissed off that their knives poked through and the edges and tips got mashed in the same manner.

I'm kind of a jerk when it comes to packaging, it will inevitably take a good 3 minutes to get through my packaging - BUT. you can chuck the blade at a wall and it will make it out okay, and the guy who picks it up after it hits the wall will be able to do so without slicing a finger off.

Usually I'll custom cut the cardboard so it sit's inside of the gaurd, gets tapped, then wraps around the gaurd so theres no way it can phsyically move up or down on the handle. On this one I just made it really snug and tapped it to the bottom cardboard that was on there really good. having it be in a bent shape kept it more snug than it would have been on a straight blade.

and then into another box having been wrapped in bubble wrap (and tape). Even still, if I had a fragile stamp I'd hit the box a few times with it. I trust this packing method well enough to ship it through any major service, but man. I've seen some mangled boxes get end up at my doorsteps and others.

and sometimes man.... You NEED a fragile stamp on the outside of some boxes. Like this guy.....

Thats an ovation guitar... the guy who packed it actually wrapped the cardboard around the bowl back. For those who like guitars and know what would happen if you dropped an ovation on the concrete from 6 feet up and all that was protecting it was a single layer of cardboard, thats exactly what putting an unsheathed knife in a big box is like. it's as much about protecting the handler with knives as it is about protecting the knife.

Congrats on your score thats one i have'nt checked out yet. I like your lineup Lvc that looks like the perfect Tb to me.
