Here is a new Frame Handle Miniature Bowie knife I just finished.
This is my second Frame handled knife.
The handle is made out of Desert Ironwood.
The guard, frame and pins are made out of German Silver.
The blade is made out of 400 layers of 1084 and 15N20 in a Birds Eye Pattern Damascus.
The blade is 2 1/8 ” long with a overall length of 4 1/8″ long.
It also has a necklace sheath that I made with it.

Tell me what you think.

Thanks for looking!

Kyle.

I burned KR in the handle on the other side. I don't have a stamp small enough for blades this small yet, but hopefully that will change soon.;)

You have a lot of talent Kyle and many knife making days ahead. I have one of your award winning bowies. Keep up the great work !

I admire the knife and you, a youngster with the moxee to post here in the valley of the shadow of death. Apparently you have already learned that as the blade steel must receive the fire to reach its ultimate destiny, so must the forger receive it to achieve his.

Kyle,
Now I remember,I was admiring your feather pattern Damascus, nice work.
Are you eighteen yet?
Not really a big fan of miniatures but this is a classy necker.
From the way things look,it will be interesting to watch you progress, you're already doing superb work.

Ken,I got a kick out of your post,sir. :D

I got to view this one in person the other day. Kyle, age aside, you are doing very fine work for someone who has only been making knives for 2 or 3 years.

Kevin,
I will not be attending the Blade Show this year, but I will be next year and I'll be going for my JS stamp.

Doug,
I won't be 18 for 8 months.

Thanks for all the encouragement everyone,

Kyle.

It was a pleasure to attend Don McGinnis' two-day knifemaking class with Kyle in February of '07. When Don had the small class introduce itself, Don told us to watch out for Kyle. Kyle had brought a few knives he had completed to the class and Don recognized his talent immediately.

Nice looking miniature bowie, Kyle! It is good to see you tackling miniature frame-handle orders and the Custom & Handmades Knives forum at this stage. I am glad you have elected to let us watch you grow here.

It's nice to see a little knife around here. And a nice one, at that. Looks like the handle is still big enough to get a couple fingers on it & actually use.

the person that ordered it wanted to use it around the farm.

Keep this customer happy! If he uses it like the farmers around here generally treat their knives, you'll have the chance to make him a brand new one every couple of months!! :D
