I got my Weiland Frame lock commander yesterday, and after a day of carrying it here is the verdict:
Guilty and sentenced to life in my pocket.
This knife has a lock better than a sebenza. Their are no sharp edges, although it is a bit dificult to close onehanded. To that I say good. Its a self defence knife and I'd rather have it hard to close than easy to close.
The blade was resharpened by Mr. Weiland and he did a great job of puting a double grind on the commander. Blade was a 99 black plain edge.
It waves just like a standard commander, meaning its faster than greased lightning.
Its not noticably heavier than a commander, and its the same thickness.
My only complaint is the finish. It was adonised purple and then covered with a polish to make it a deep grey, only it did not make it the black color i truly wanted. Mr. weiland explained this to me, and I could have had the knife boron carbided for another $50, but I'm cheap.
My solution, well, I found in the supermarket laundry isle adhesive dots of felt, like what is put on a pool table, but black. I stuck them on the butt of the knife that showed out of the pocket when clipped in and now the knife just about disapears against a pair of black dockers.
I will post picts when I get my scanner working, but anyone who orders from Mr. Weiland will NOT be disapointed.
I intend to have another knife done the same way in the future.
