Frame lock on 030x easier to manipulate than 056x?

I got a 0301 for Christmas from the wife and I was shocked by how easy it was to move the lock bar. My 0560 by comparison requires a lot more pressure to move the lock bar. The lock bar is not sticking it all, it almost as if the springiness of the lockbar feels much firmer. I thought maybe the 0560 was thicker but looking at where they grind out the relief in the lockbars, it looks to be the same thickness.

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this. Neither knife has an issue in the slightest just comparing.

Yea mine are like that also. I dunno if it might have something to do with easier access with ur finger to the frame lock or not. I def think the frame lock on the 0300 feels smoother to the touch then the 0560 if that makes any sense

The lack of it stickiness is most likely due to the DLC on the lockbar.

It may be because you push with more leverage on the 0301, unless you've sanded down your G10 scale on the 0560 to open things up more to get a better angle on the lockbar.

I have smaller hands and I have no problems getting good leverage on the 0560. Even if I just use the tip of my thumb on the 0301, it still feels easier too move.

My 560 ser.1327 opens easier than my 300 ser.3896 and my 300 easier then my 561 ser.2513.
I pre-ordered and my 560 it was one of the first batch I think. The 561 has a completley diffrent lock up. It doesn't stick but it is very grabby, so if you don't move the lockbar all the way over, it wont just slide over like my 560.

my 560 has a stonewashed lockface with a slight angle with a slight curve the whole lockface. lockbar only makes corner contact.
my 561 has a machined lockface with a steeper angle and a hard curve in the last 25 percent of the lockface. lockbar makes full contact.

Crazy man.
