When I use my 301 the Frame lock will go all the way over to the none lock side. Is this normal for a frame lock? Or should I send it in to the great crew at Kershaw?

You can try to find some pictures in this forum and try to compare.

Are there any problems other than the way it looks? Is the lock engaging properly?

BTW: I'm noticing quite a few posts on doubts about the liner and frame locks recently for various Kershaw models.

I would send that one in. Even if it is working right I would suspect it could be a bit of an annoyance. They'll get you fixed up.

If there is any blade play whatsoever I would send it in. ANother thing to consider is that it will never get any tighter, and over time might get worse. It happens some time and is not representative of normal Kershaw quality. Send it in and they will make things all better.

Just don't come back in a couple of weeks complaining about how the knife doesn't lock up well enough! :D

I'm sitting here looking at mine. I can't force it all the way over, but
even if I did, it would still fully engage the blade for locking.
Is the blade loose at all?
You might need to send it in if it is......

I've got a 302 and no probs whatsoever, in fact, none of my other Kershaws have any lock problems either, although I'm sure they exist. I'm not a fan of liner locks in general, but Kershaw is the only company I will buy a liner lock from. I'd send it in, though. Clint

Thanks for the quick replies,
There is Zero blade play front to back or side play.
I was thinking it only happens when I have a tight grip.
I still have the highest confidence in this knife it has never been babied.
I will surely send it in if it had any blade play.

If I were you,I definitely think you should send it in and have them replace the frame lock side with a brand new one.The situation that you describe is an idenical problem that I have with my Titanium Mini-Cyclone which was a brand new knife. Then again, the Titanium Bump I bought recently which was brand new, is of top notch quality and it's titanium frame lock locked up rock solid against the tang of the blade with plenty of room for wear.I have tried to push the lockbar to the other side with no success, unlike my mini-cyclone.

ericb445,If you are able to unlock the blade with your fore finger in the guard like I could with my Mini-cyclone ,I would definitely return it.With torquing the blade in extreme circumstances,I do see a very potential risks of having the blade close on one's knucks or such.

Even though my knife didn't have any blade play issues,I could very easily unlock the blade with my forefinger.

I'd carry it and use it. When it develops blade play then send it in. It could be like it is now for years. Consider it more reliable now than ever and use it happily. Its as close to a fixed blade as you'll ever see it right now so use it. Thats what I'd do. The warranty will still be there for you later if you need it.
