Has anyone ever had their framelock fail on them? Specifically, has it ever worn out? Is it then covered under warranty? My 1997 lg seb is still going strong! I must have opened and closed it 1000's of times over the years without any problems! The lock side will periodically shift all the way over to the other side but after a cleaning it's right back where it belongs.

People have said that they have had their Sebenzas from day one and they are still solid as a rock. Many very old Sebenzas still lock up very tight without any bladeplay.

If, if your lock were to wear out, which I doubt, I am guessing that CRK will repair/replace it for free (as long as it wasn't caused by abuse, flicking, etc.)

Several years ago I sent in my large plain for sharpening to factory edge, I was sending another knife in for refurb so figured why not. I was told that Chris didn't like the feel of the lockbar so he replaced the lock side, free of charge and including the engraving. That is the kind of service you get from the finest knife maker in the business!

I have had a framelock fail on me, but it wasn't a Sebenza. As a result, I'm leery of many of the frame locks out there. But I trust Sebenza completely. Unlike many framelocks I've handled, on the Sebenza the lock bar and tang don't just overlap and touch at one point, they match up perfectly.

IIRC, someone on this forum once said that Sal Glesser of Spyderco tested a Sebenza for Chris Reeve on Spyderco's knife-breaking machine. I think the Sebenza failed at 400 pounds. Don't quote me on that.
