Sorry, that does not appear to be MOP. Most likely a celluloid, plastic or acrylic depending on vintage and manufacturer.

May not be outgassing celluloid. No corrosion on the bosters or shield, and no shrinkage.
Perhaps the blade discoloration is simply patina?
