Frank Frazetta, one of the most influential illustrators/artists of the last 50 years has passed. His style revolutionized how we look at fantasy art and even changed cinematography with the deep blues and crimson atmosphere in movies from "Aliens" to "300". Imitated everywhere, he set a standard that is still unequaled.

Man I grew up on that guy.... I remember when conan the barbarian was a monthly Mag that always had either a new Frazetta or Boris cover.

I remember as a kid reading the Death Dealer novels and as I read through I would stop every so often to look at the cover. I have been searching to find a copy for the past few years and they are impossible to get a hold of.
I believe the detah dealer painting was one of his earliest works and to this day is a classic.

Beautiful, beautiful, exciting pictures! He made the world look better than it ever really is. :)

This is a sad day, indeed. I've made my living as an illustrator for over thirty years, and Mr. Frazetta was a very strong influence on me when I was young. Many people have tried to imitate his style, but none have succeeded, for he was in a class of his own.

Sleep well, Mr. Frazetta, sleep well. The world's a lesser place without you.

I remember me and my friends totally being into Frazetta when we were in high school. I am still into him. I am sorry to hear he has passed, the world is definitely a poorer place without him.

His art is partially responsible for me being interested in sci fi , fantasy and horror as a kid.

RIP man.
