So I like my standard leek, but what I'm really jonesing for is the blue and black smoke anodized handle...with the composite blade. And a framelock. I'm guessing the blades will be compatible, but will the framelock scale mount to the aluminum scale? Also, do I have to buy both knives, or is there a way to buy the blades separately, maybe from kershaw? Thanks in advance

The trickiest part is usually screw lengths. But I wouldn't think it would be an issue combining an aluminum scale with the frame lock. Usually takes some tuning together it to work smoothly. I managed to combine a black framelock with a 3D machined G10 scale and a Random Leek blade, I did have to get different screws though.

As far as I know you would have to buy all the knives complete.

Maybe we should start a FrankenLeek pool to make it easier to do?

I put a G-10 scale on a frame lock Leek. I used Shallot screws and it worked great.

Damn. Those are some fine lookin knives. We gotta get kershaw to start a custom leek online tool ala benchmades custom griptilian feature. I don't think anyone would hesitate to pay msrp for a custom leek, since a frankenleek is going to cost me at least that much. That, or get a parts pool going. That's a great idea.

I've been thinking about making a Frankeleek like that, but I didn't want to shell out for multiple complete Leeks. I love the idea of a parts pool or custom Leek from Kershaw.

Screwy Lock-up but darn good looking

Thought 1: I just heard about the frankenleeks a few days ago, and i think its pretty cool. I plan on trying it out soon. Have to get a few more leeks first.

Thought 2: Kershaw wont sell or ship blades, but they do for other parts small parts.

Thought 3: I have a few nice pieces of Amboyna Burl wood and wanted to try and make some wood handles for my leek. Has anyone tried doing this yet?

Mine's a framelock and blade of a tanto leek with the Al scales of the American flag leek. I like my, er, frankenJYDIITiCB even more.

I know that Kershaw is working their butts off however, I think that they should re-release the Ti ZDP Framelock Leek. Have all the blades available.

I have a couple of the tizdps, 1 to use w/ an s30 blade the others in case I loose the first one, But I would still love to see a zdp w/ an s90 random blade. Just a little fantasy of mine

This much replies and not a post from leek_freak?? maybe the world is ending in 2012!!

You mean this? :D

I kept the liner lock though. I had to buff down the top of the lock a bit to make it lock up tightly.

Haha I guess I should post my frankenleek in here too. I'll get the camera out sometime soon. Nothing special for me though, just the black frame with the S30V blade. Then I ended up with the G10 scales with the black DLC blade.

Whenever I get time to finish them, I'll have a few custom ones (orange G10, blue G10, and some purdy wood scales).
