FrankenLeeks: Can I switch Leek blades and handles around?

I have seen some talk on the forums of making "Frankenknives" by switching blades between different handles of the same knife model. It is usually done to obtain a certain color combination. I have seen some leeks with switched blades as well.

My question is this: Is it possible that I might have issues attempting the same thing with 2 Kershaw Leeks? I am especially concerned because the knives I would like to use have different lock types. One is a liner lock and one is a frame lock. I am trying to get put a serrated blade from a black framelock into a set of smoked aluminum handles (with liners). They never made a smoked aluminum knife with serrations.

I understand that some individual blade-to-lock fitting may be done on individual knives before they leave the factory, and I don't have the skill to modify the lockface of the blade or liners. So has anyone tried this? Do you guys think it will work?

It should work. Give it a try. The worst that happens is that you have to swap the blades back.

It's pretty easy and doesn't usually require too much to get it all back and centered. I've done a half dozen and never had to modify anything. I'd pick up some loctite though as you may find your pivot screw wants to loosen up a lot with use after you've got everything back together. While you've got everything apart is also a good time to put a bit of greese in the speedsafe bar cavity. I don't think I've had rattle in a Leek but I didn't carry a Leek regularly til recently but I know the rattle drove me crazy when my Blur started to rattle.

Thanks for your advice guys :). I've had a Leek apart before. Burned out a torsion bar or two over the time I've been EDCing these knives. So I'm not worried about that. As long as the new blade fits right in the handle I'm squared away. I'll give this a try once I get my blue smoke leek in the mail and let y'all know how it goes.
