Can this be possible?
Franklin Mint is not known for quality collectable knives but a guy on ebay is advertising one he says was made by Boker.
Photos he provides do not show blade markings, that in further communication he says state, Solingen W. Germany on one side and 89 FM on the other.
To me this would be an oxymoron, always wanted to use that word, for Boker to make a knife for the Franklin Mint.
Anyone have some comment or knowledge of this knife?
Thanks

I have never seen evidence to prove it, but some of the patterns in this set look exactly like some patterns made by H. Boker.
I think the markings indicate Solingen manufacture, which at least puts them in the neighborhood.

These are beautiful knives.
Knife is said to state "Solingen, "West Germany" and I have never known a Boker to use anything but "Germany" in its stamping rather than West Germany.
Is this your collection or a stock photo?
If your collection, can you verify what blade markings are exactly?
Thanks

I have had communication with Terry at Boker and he confirmed that Boker did indeed produce a series of knives for Franklin Mint in 1989 and they were likely stamped West Germany. That is all information he could gather.
So it is very likely that in fact this series of knives were in fact made by Boker.
