Just got this knife in today from our very own Dirk. I saw this knife while doing a search for Fred Perrin La Griffes. BTW, Dirk does have permission from Mr. Perrin himself to make this knife design with the hole.
This is one great little knife that he made to my spec. Has a titanium blade that looks to be kinda of a reverse tanto with a slight talon shape to it so that the knife be an effective ripper, as well as an effective stabber. The scales on the knife are carbon fiber that really makes the handle comfy.
And about the handle. Because it is kind of a neutral coffin style grip, you can pretty much hold this comfortably in most grip styles. The particularly unique grips that has impressed me with this knife is the pikal grip and being able to hold the knife as a push dagger.

Thanks! I am very happy you like it!:D I really enjoyed making this one. It came together very well with only one minor OOPS! And that was easily corrected. I was seriously thinking about keeping this one and making another.;) This one started a little longer, but Death's Head requested a
1.75" blade. This reduced amount of the curve in the blade a bit. However, as he stated, it doesn't diminish the blades ability. It really only requires a bit of a curve to get the benefits of the hawkbill blade.

I have some more of these coming back from heat treat. I have a Chad Nichols stainless damascus that looks really nice. I will be posting pictures soon.

Here are a few new ones.

The first is the Chad Nichols stainless damascus Variable Claw.

The second is a prototype design I actually finished a year ago. However, right about when I finished it, I decided to correct a small mistake and ended up spending the next year trying to correct my correction. It's finally at apoint I will call acceptable. Though it is no where near as nice as when I first finished. Lesson learned.

The third is what I call the Variable Offsett. Once back from heat treat, I will grind a steeper tanto angle for the tip and then grind that. So, the blade will basically be triple. Even though the handle is not neutrally centered, it still permits decent comfort in any grip.
