Free hand Sharpening

I use an EZ Lap Diamond hone for all my user pocket knives. Thats the only freehand I do. I use it dry, Occasionally wet it and wipe it down with a little Windex.
 
(Interupted by my kids...hit submit before I was finished...SIGH)....On the natural stones or synthetic stones on my Lansky, I use Marvel Mystery oil. Cheapest stuff I've found, seems to work great. Floats up a nice sludge of metal filings and stone dust that can be wiped right off.
