I'm going to guess this knife was made in China? Anyone have more information on the knife itself? The imprinting on the knife itself is the steel I assume? Overall quality of the steel on this knife? Thanks for the info.

Congrats on the freebee China Schrade X-Timer First Responder (SCHFRS = Schrade First Responder). This model has been discontinued. The steel is titanium coated stainless, on the lower end of the quality continuum, thus it was no surprise reading your post in another forum reporting that the blade tip was bent out of the box. Just so you know, the scope of this forum is limited to knives made by the Imperial Schrade Corp. - maker of Schrade Knives & Tools, including the famous Uncle Henry and Old Timer Brands - that were made in the USA. Since Schrade closed the doors to the factory once located in Ellenville, NY, this forum has become a site for the collectors to meet and share information about all things related to USA made Schrade knives. Best of luck to you.
