Free1.jpgFree2.jpgHere is the deal, time for payback. I am offering up a slightly used Small 21 Serrated with African Blackwood Inlays free, including shipping to an active duty enlisted member of the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corp, or Coast Guard. Here is the how the winner will be chosen, 200 words or less why you deserve this knife. Top three stories go in a hat and the winner is chosen by luck. A good friend of mine is doing the judging and is a military officer. Once he picks the winner, you will have to provide him with some credentials and he will tell me who to ship it to. This contest will be locked by 9/18/2012 noon Mountain Daylight time, once locked it will be read and evaluated and the winner will be PM'd by me. I will ship hopefully the next week. A lot of reading may need to be done so it may take a couple of days to pick the winner.

Good Luck, God Bless and Thanks for your Service!

Wow,really awesome gesture on your part.I'm not active military but good luck to everyone who enters.

Active Military can be a reservist called up to duty, please no people on Annual Training. Thanks go to these brave men and woman, not me.

Very nice. I'm going to forward this to an airman in my unit. She very much appreciates nice knives but they're behond her paycheck at the moment, I'm sure she'll send something in. Thanks much for the generosity.

edit: can you you PM me an email address she can send you your entry? I'll tell her to send it from her military account. Thanks.

Hughes you are top notch. Good luck to you service men and women and thank you for your service.

I knew I retired to early! lol.

Really, that's incredibly nice of you.

I'll pass this along, Thanks again for supporting the troops!

Great guy for sure!

Thanks for the accolades, but gentleman and ladies this is not about me but rather our overworked and underpaid servicemen and women. So help out and tell every service member you know that would like a freebee and help get this into the hands of a proper person.

Thanks for the help.

I sent a E-mail. It seems you can't send a pm without a paid membership? Don't remember it working this way though

A big thanks to our men and women in the service. I'll make sure to tell all of my friends currently active that they could win a Sebenza!

Hughes, thanks for helping them out.

This is the message:

Not sure how many responses you've had but figured I'd give it a try. I've been
in the Arizona army national guard for 8 years as an Apache mechanic. I'm
currently on my second deployment to Afghanistan. Been a crk fan for several
years but only have 2. A small 21 and a green beret.

I'm not too sure how many how many military guys we have on these forums, but
I'm sure a few of them are combat arms. So I'd like to say this, if you get
responses from guys that are combat arms, don't consider me for the giveaway. A
lot of civilians see all military members as heroes. But to us, the guys going
outside the wire are our heroes. I signed up knowing there's a one in a million
chance we might be put in a dangerous situation. But these guys go out and
actively seek out the danger. They put their lives on the line almost everyday.
These are the brave souls that really deserve our nation's thanks.

Thank you very much for doing this. The recipient will be amazed and touched by
your support

That's a great response. Everything he says is true, but I would caveat that those behind the scenes (such as kaosu04) are every bit as essential as our troops on the front lines. I've spent 24 years in the U.S. Navy and realized at a very young age that it takes the efforts of all hands to complete a mission. Today's warfighters have my utmost respect and gratitude and I extend that to their circle of family & friends that support them too.

I absolutely agree. Every person in the military is essential to the mission. Whether they be SEALs or a non deployable job. Not everyone can be kicking down doors. Not everyone gets to do a glorious job that they love every minute of. Anyone who signed that contract deserves the respect of our nation. Every single service member plays a part in taking the fight to our enemy, so they don't take the fight to our door

Outstanding! And good idea to limit it to the EM's. Most of us who are more senior can afford certain "luxuries" but I remember how little I made an a jr NCO. Also, would you consider a write up by the individual nominated by their leadership instead of the individual nominating themself? A lot of good troops I've known would feel funny about putting themselves in for something even tough they are deserving.

Gladly would I accept the nomination of a servicemen by a fellow servicemen! Great idea. Thanks!

Yeah, I remember those $78 a month when I enlisted back then... All the way to $144/month when I got out.

Wanted to announce with great pleasure that there will now be a second place. Another member PM'd me to ask if he could donate a brand new knife as well. He hoped that this might inspire others to help provide knives to our wonderful servicemen as well. So fellow members please tell every servicemember you know to get in on this. Also Actively serving can submit requests on the behalf of their fellow service members.

Thanks to all. Good luck and God Bless our troops!
