Free lesson get together?

Okay, I see a lot of people having trouble with the freehand sharpening. I have an idea.

Why don't we have a lunch/sharpening clinic, everyone bring a lucy or we'll get some pizza to go, and I'll sit down with as many guys who come, and show you one on one how to sharpen up your knife with easy method free hand? I'll drive a few hours, if we can agree to a meet up place for those in the Washington D.C., Baltimore, Richmond Va, area. I figure someplace is a decent central meeting area to sit and teach/learn. I'm willing to drive two hours in any direction. Bring a dull knife and a sharpening stone.

I figure if I can reach out and teach even a couple of people, then they can do the same for a couple more. any takers?

Great gesture Carl! I hope you have a good response and it moves on around the country. I guess Atlanta is more than a "couple of hour drive" for you? Maybe this idea will spread to other parts of the country from some of the other free hand experts. I am no free hand expert, and far from it, but would like to add that to my repertoire some day.

Wish I was in the area. I believe I learned sharpening on a coffee cup from your video if I'm not mistaken.
