I am not sure if this is appropriate - but I thought it might help someone. Mods - I can edit this if need be.
DeLorme sent me this e-mail today:
DeLorme World Base Map data for Haiti is now available for free download from DeLorme. The data can be viewed in XMap format and on an Earthmate PN-Series GPS receiver for use in rescue and humanitarian efforts.
The DeLorme World Base Map is topological, routable, and GPS-navigable. It accurately portrays major transportation layers, inland and shoreline hydrography, boundaries, and major geographic features.
For more information and to download the free data for XMap or your PN-Series device, please visit www.delorme.com and click on the top right section of the homepage where information is provided.
We are working to also provide high-resolution imagery for use with our data so please check back over the weekend and we will post any updates.
Sincerely,
The DeLorme Team
I just thought I would post up as I thought it was a pretty cool thing.
