direct inch to metric conversion is not going to work well for him.

The standard stock sizes used in inch measurement are not identical to those in metric.

However
It's not that difficult of a build.

I'm sure that you can figure out the changes for yourself based on the metric materials available to you.
(then sell metric plans)

Have all of your parts in your hand before you put it together.

As far as I know, Tracy Mickley designed the NWG and drew the plans. These plans have 15 pages of high quality CAD drawings with materials and measurements on each drawing. Tracy made several prototype builds and invested several hundred hours (including some money too).
It's always nice to get something for free, but these plans are NOT FREE. Tracy sells the plans for $25.00. No metric version, I'm afraid.
The only thing about these plans that's free: buy the plans and FEEL FREE to make inch/metric conversion & adaptation. That's a nice feeling too.
Build the NWG and later, sell the original + converted & adopted drawings to me!!
I'm on a tight budget (Croatia!), but would really like to get the plans and build the NWG.

My wife said that she would kill me if I buy anything, even a single thing regarding knife making materials or knife making tools, but she didn't mention any CAD drawings. :)
I'll take the risk because I think it's worth every penny!

not that hard to make changes as you go along.
the very nature of the project is that it isnt precision.
