I know many of you guys are woods people that hang around here so I wanted to share this because I was stoked when I found out about it.
I use maps for everything. Hunting, fishing, camping, mushroom hunting, finding new ares to explore, studying, on and on. I'm a big fan of the large topo maps that USGS puts out as well as the fold up NatGeo maps, I also use OnX Hunt Maps on my phone (mostly for private property information).
NatGeo and USGS are now offering free printable topo maps in a pretty cool layout. You select the Quad you want, and you get 5 pages in a PDF, 1 showing the whole Quad, 2-5 breaking the Quad down into quarters. I plan on cutting and taping some of my frequented areas together, essentially making my own fold up topo maps. This will save me space because a few of those ares take a couple pre-made maps to cover.
