Free shipping, or US Mail?

On the Emerson website, in the cart, there is a free shipping option, and a US Mail option which is not free.

Can anyone tell me which one is faster, and what the difference in shipping speed is?

I've always done the free shipping and got it very fast. Three times I've ordered on Friday and received my knife on the following Monday.

Interesting. Two weeks ago today, I ordered some accessories, the cards I mentioned in another thread and a pirate skull clip. I did not receive them until Tuesday of this week. I was very disappointed with the shipping speed. I don't necessarily blame EKI for this, though, as the packaging was USPS Priority 2-day, so I suspect that the USPS took longer to deliver it than they were supposed to.

It's just that I'm about to order the N-SAR, and naturally I'm eager and impatient. If there was a next-day option, I might even be tempted...

I recently ordered and used the free shipping and got it in 3 business days. Ordered on Saturday and received Wednesday.

Yeah, as late in the day as I ordered my Tiger OD, I wonder if it won't be until Monday that it gets shipped, and that's even assuming Ernie's already signed the back of the blade.

I always use the paid USPS option when ordering from EKI. Ill usually get whatever it is I ordered in 2-3 business days. Ive never had issues with EKI themselves when shipping, but my post office is run by some less than competent individuals and have lost packages after they arrive there. No fault of EKI's though

Just FYI EKI is not open on weekends so if you order today it won't ship out until Monday.

I am a bit disconcerted by an email I received from UPS yesterday, Monday Nov. 24.

I placed the order late Friday evening, and I assumed it wouldn't be processed until Monday (yesterday). I paid extra for 2-day air shipping. I assumed that the delivery day would be Wednesday the 26th, which is two days after the 24th. However, UPS sent me an email alert (I have a subscription with UPS to receive these whenever a package is sent to my address) that a package from EKI was coming at me with an expected delivery date of Monday Dec. 1. That is not 2-day shipping by any stretch of the imagination.

It's not necessarily EKI's fault. Once the package leaves the shop they don't have control over where it ends up or when it gets there. I ordered my ECA membership and it took about 2 months to get to me. The post office lost it and it suddenly showed up out of nowhere. Same thing with my Big Bulldog. The post office lost it and basically said "sorry, better luck next time." Luckily, EKI took care of me both times and fixed the issue. Just be patient, the package will get there when it gets there.

I hesitate to use the word "mistake", so let's call it an oversight. The package was sent out as UPS Ground, not air. But apparently, this has not gone unnoticed, because EKI has recalled the package and they've sent out another one today, shipped overnight, so that I should receive it tomorrow.

Once again, EKI is demonstrating the superior sense of customer service that is so rightfully revered.
